SIKA
Book One
The story
Moon is an army veteran who has paid a heavy price and learned to take life one day at a time. All she has is Lilly, ten and sharp, and Jacques.
A French baker with the unflappable je ne sais quoi of a Parisian waiter, Jacques became more than their family. Their anchor. The reason Moon stopped drifting.
Together, they raised Lilly in his bakery in Littletown, Massachusetts. Bread before dawn. Snow on the windows. A quiet life. That was all she bargained for.
Then a ski weekend with their closest friends ends on a dark winter road, beneath the ice of a New England lake.
The cover and opening chapters are preliminary. Both will evolve through the editorial process before launch, with every revision aimed at creating the best possible reading experience.
